A keen astronomer at Stargazing Live 2018

Welcome

Welcome to the Lancaster and Morecambe Astronomical Society LaMAS.

We are a friendly group of local amateur astronomers in the Lancaster and Morecambe area. Beginner or expert, amateur or professional, young or old, anyone interested in astronomy is welcome to our society.

Try us out

We meet every month from September through to June. You do not have to be a member to attend a meeting, they are all open to the public. Just come along, pay £2.50 to cover society expenses, and become a member for the night. Or we have 2 yearly subscription options : Annual subscription £20 or Family Subscription £30 for spouses, partners, members of the same family and 2 or more people living in the same household (each of which run from January to January). For under 18s it is even better, everything is free!

Please see the Diary for upcomming events

What we do

In addition to regular meetings, we also have observing sessions, occasional social get togethers with other local astronomy groups, and we try to organise at least one big public event during the year.
